Cookie Policy

1. What cookies and local storage are

A cookie is a small text file that a website places in your browser so it can remember your settings the next time you visit. Browser local storage (localStorage) is a similar mechanism: the data stays on your device and is not sent automatically with every request. We use both, and only to make the Service work.

2. What we use

The Service uses only items in the "strictly necessary" category. There are no advertising or tracking cookies:

• aisop-locale (cookie, one year): remembers your interface language so the server can serve pages in that language. On your first visit the default is chosen from the country or region estimated from your IP address (Traditional Chinese for Taiwan, Simplified Chinese for mainland China; elsewhere, your browser language preference, or English if it is not Chinese); after that, the language you pick in Settings is used.
• aisop-token (local storage): your sign-in token, so you don't have to enter your password on every visit. Cleared when you sign out or delete your account.
• aisop-theme (local storage): your light / dark theme preference.
• aisop-sidenav (local storage): whether the sidebar is expanded or collapsed.
• aisop-currency (local storage): the currency shown on the pricing page.
• aisop-cookie-ok (local storage): remembers that you have seen the cookie notice so it isn't shown again.
• other items starting with aisop-: purely interface state such as video playback position and read markers. They contain no personal data.

3. Third-party cookies

The payment window that opens when you buy points is provided by a third-party payment provider and may set that provider's own cookies to complete the payment and prevent fraud, governed by that provider's privacy policy. Apart from that, the Service embeds no third-party advertising, analytics or social plug-ins.

4. Managing cookies

You can view, block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings. Note that clearing this data signs you out and resets your interface language and theme to the defaults, and blocking necessary cookies may stop the Service from working properly.
